This year Good Friday coincides with World Health Day 2023.
World Health Day is an annual event held on April 7th every year by the World Health Organization (WHO) that aims to raise awareness and draw attention to important health issues that affect people worldwide.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the World Health Organisation, and the theme is improving Public Health.
Improving public health requires collaboration between individuals, communities, healthcare medical centres, and policymakers. At Clemton Park Family St Medical Centre, our Doctors hope to contribute to the local Earlwood, Canterbury, Campsie, Roselands, Clemton Park and surrounding community through:
1. Promoting healthy lifestyle: Our GPs encourage healthy lifestyle habits such as regular exercise, healthy eating, not smoking, and limiting alcohol consumption. This can help prevent chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
2. Ensuring access to quality healthcare services that remains affordable and accessible, continuing to offer bulk-billing services to patients with Concession Cards and to all Children Under 16 yrs. Certain Doctors and GPs continue to offer bulk-billing services to ALL patients.
3. Promoting vaccination and offering Covid-19 vaccines and Bulk-Billed influenza vaccine consultations. Vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Encouraging vaccinations such as Covid-19 vaccines, Influenza vaccines, Childhood immunisations, Meningococcal vaccines, Pneumococcal vaccines, and more.
4. Supporting mental health: Mental health is just as important as physical health. Promoting mental health awareness and providing access to mental health services can help prevent and treat mental illnesses and improve overall quality of life.
